The Illinois River Area is a great location to start or expand a business. The Illinois River Area Chamber of Commerce works closely with Marseilles and Seneca municipalities, regional partnerships and non-profit groups to meet a broad array of economic and community development needs. We offer a progressive, cooperative business environment in a fast-growing county. Both communities offer incentives, built-to-suit opportunities, as well as existing industrial and commercial properties. Both communities present a strong foundation for your business or family.

Marseilles is home to the first “green” building erected in LaSalle County, PCS Phosphate, the world’s largest fertilizer company by capacity and the world’s leading potash producer. From locally-grown produce and sustainable building practices to creating renewable energy sources, such as wind power and bio-diesel, our area businesses are leading the way to protect our vast open spaces.

Location Advantages

Roads, rivers, rail & air are conveniently located within the area.

The Illinois River Area is fortunate by its unique location. The Illinois River Area has exceptional roadway access to all directions. Interstate 80 is the second longest highway in the United States. It connects the east coast to the west coast and is just minutes from downtown Marseilles and Seneca. Located just 20 miles west is Interstate 39, a north-south route with junctions to major interstates such as Interstate 80, Interstate 55, Interstate 88 and Interstate 90. Interstate 55, a key interstate between St. Louis and Chicago, is just 35 miles east of the Illinois River Area.

Both Marseilles and Seneca are situated on the Illinois River with available properties offering barge to rail. O’Hare International and Chicago’s Midway airports are only 90 minutes away. For smaller private and corporate aircraft, the local Illinois Valley Regional Airport is 30 minutes away. It has two runways, 6000 ft. and 4000 ft., and both are hardsurface and lighted.
